Tapered Rubber Boots and Cones, Built to Your Two Diameters

Tapered sleeves are the ones catalogs skip. A straight boot is a size on a shelf. A cone is a pattern that has to be cut for the two diameters you actually have, which is why suppliers turn these jobs down and why we get a lot of them. Truck charging boots on batch plants are frequently tapered. So are silo cone to bin activator transitions, dust collector hopper outlets, and any spot where somebody adapted 16 inch equipment to a 12 inch line.

Wall thickness on a taper is chosen for the small end, because that is where material speeds up and hits hardest. A cone dropping aggregate should be 3/8 or 1/2 inch. A cone handling cement, flour or dust runs fine at 1/4 inch.

Measure both openings across the inside, and measure the vertical gap between the two flanges. If the cone is offset rather than centered, say so in the notes and send a sketch. We build offset transitions too, they just need a different pattern.
